Het aftellen is begonnen. Nederland en Belgie zijn helemaal in de ban van het EK 2000. Het is de eerste keer dat het EK in onze twee landen gehouden wordt. De eerste wedstrijd gaat tussen België en Zweden en wordt op zaterdag 10 juni 20.45 in Brussel gespeeld. Geen voetbalfan, maar wel meepraten? Sinds 28 mei jl. is er een spannend projekt van Willemijn Bouman online: het 'Interactief Wereld Schilderijen Project'. Zij maakt een serie echte schilderijen met deelnemers van over de hele wereld! Dit gebeurt interactief via haar website en tegelijkertijd 'life' in haar atelier in Den Haag! Willemijn - de schilder - is slechts intermediair: de handen... En JIJ - de bezoeker - bent geïnspireerd: de creator... Geef haar een opdracht en zij voert deze uit: om de paar dagen zie je het resultaat hiervan op haar website. Het tweede schilderij is net begonnen!	Since 28th Mai 2000 Willemijn Bouwan started a very exciting online project: the 'Interactive World Painting Project'. She creates a series of real paintings by participants from all over the world! This happens interactive through her website and at the same time 'life' in her studio in The Hague, The Netherlands. Willemijn - the painter - am just intermediate: the hands... YOU - the visitor - are inspired: the creator... Give her a painting-suggestion and she'll carry it out: every few days you can see the results of your contribution on her website.
Op 13 mei 2000 is Enschede getroffen door een ramp. Midden in een woonwijk is een klein brandje in een vuurwerkopslagplaats geeindigd in een enorme Explosie. Bijna 1000 mensen raakten gewond, 18 dood, 3 nog steeds vermist. Meer dan 10.000 mensen konden wekenlang hun oude thuis niet in, de meeste zullen niets meer van hun eigendom terug zien... Het is al een beetje uit het dagelijks nieuws weggeebt, desalniettemin wil ik op deze wijze nog even aan alle betroffenen denken. Op internet kun je o.a. terecht op de Enschede Ramp-pagina met veel links over de ramp, en voor de laatste stand van zaken kun je de website van de Gemeente Enschede bezoeken.	On May 13 2000 a major desaster struck the town of Enschede. In the middle of a residential quarter a small fire in a fireworkdepot ended in an enormous explosion. Almost 1000 people got injured, 18 died, 3 people are still missing. More than 10.000 people couldn't enter their former houses for weeks, most of them will never see anything back of their property... It's already a bit out of the daily press, nevertheless in this way I would like to give all affected people a moment of thought. Eigenlijk is Hollandnet van een hobby uitgegroeid naar een enorm project, die op momenten zoals nu vrijwel niet meer "alleen eventjes" te onderhouden is. Dat er bovendien nog kosten mee gemoeid zijn, mag ook duidelijk zijn. Daarom zijn we dringend op zoek naar sponsors, voor advertenties in onze nieuwsbrief of op de site. Dat hoeft echt niet veel te kosten. Dat geeft ons weer meer mogelijkheden mbt de ontwikkeling en voortzetting van Hollandnet. Dus weet je iemand, of misschien jezelf, die interesse heeft, of heb je ideen, waardoor ons platform interessanter wordt voor adverteerders, we horen het graag! From the first page, but also from the search corner in the genealogie-part of Hollandnet "Emigrants & their Dutch Roots". Many of you already used this service. But did you know, that with each search you perform through this form, you sponsor Hollandnet a little bit? Of course you are welcome to search for other things as your surname... Hollandnet started once as a hobby and has expanded to an enormous project, that, at moments like this, isn't "just like that" to be maintained. That furthermore the site costs money, will be obvious. That's why we search urgently for sponsors, for advertisements in our newsletter or on the site. Really, that doesn't have to cost much. But it will give us the opportunity to do more with regard to the development and continuance of Hollandnet. So: if you know somebody, maybe even yourself, who is interested, or do you have ideas, how we can make our platform more interesting for advertisers, we are pleased to hear it!
